Roman Franks and Alan Gold both qualified BDS (Batchelor of Dental Surgery) at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1970. In the same year Alan qualified LDS,RCS (Licentiate of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England).

Soon after qualification they took the SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry) courses in sedation and anaesthesia and since that time have treated many thousands of phobic dental patients.

In 1975 they joined forces to form the Franks and Gold partnership, now known as Knightsbridge Dental Care, in Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge.

Roman and Alan have been members of the London Dental Study Club for over 20 years, Roman being past president of the club.

Knightsbridge Dental Care has for many years had a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and was one of the first, if not the very first, dental practice in Britain to place cosmetic Porcelain Veneers on front teeth to improve a patient's smile.

Roman and Alan are members of the Association of Dental Implantology and have attended numerous meetings and conferences of the organization. They have been placing dental implants since 1987.

They have also attended many conferences both in Britain and the USA concerning the treatment of migraine related to tempero-mandibular joint problems.

Both Roman and Alan are married, each with 2 children.
